Here are just a few ideas to spark your imagination: 



  • wash someone's car windows while they are pumping gas
  • offer free babysitting so new parents can go have a date night
  • make a home cooked meal for a neighbor (single mom, elderly)
  • rake leaves for a neighbor
  • buy the meal for the person behind you in the drive through
  • take your friend's kids for the afternoon on a play date so they can go Christmas shopping
  • send a note of encouragement for no particular reason
  • show up with a bouquet of flowers at someone's workplace to brighten their day
  • make baked goods for the local volunteer fire department
  • donate blankets to the local rescue mission to hand out to the homeless
  • take a hot meal to one of the area panhandlers that you pass on the way to work
  • send a care package or thank you to a soldier 
  • leave a gift card for fast food under a busy mom's windshield wiper
  • leave someone a Christmas card with a coffee gift card inside
  • pay for a stranger's groceries
  • donate used books to a library with a kind note inside
  • visit the elderly in nursing homes
  • help someone with home repairs
  • return shopping carts at the grocery store
  • make homemade handwarmers for those who work outdoors
  • take books or movies to someone who is bedridden
  • leave a box of canned goods on someone's porch anonymously
  • donate blood at a blood drive and Christmas the technicians

  • offer to do pro bono work on a project where your skills are needed
